BOMB Drugstore Lips: Sticks, stains, glosses and everything in between.

Drugstore Picks: Lips

I picked up SO many lip options for Drugstore Month this year because there are SO. MANY. OPTIONS. Seriously even if I wanted to pick ONE brand, I could likely buy 20 different options and there would STILL be some that we missed!

Whether you're a gloss-girl, into actual lipsticks or alllllllll about a good stain, this post is for YOU. I know I probably sound like a dead-horse because I keep saying "OHMYGOD YOU GUYS....THIS IS THE BEST DRUGSTORE MONTH EVER. I'M OBSESSED....BLAH BLAH BLAH," but I'm like, not joking. Last year I liiiiiked some of the lipsticks.....this year I'm OBSESSED with almost ALL of the lip options I bought. Not sure if cosmetic companies are taking notes from the Dept. store heavy-hitters of the lip world or what but, they're legit better than ever. Because we have SIX options to review, we gotta get started!!

1. Loreal Infallible 8 Hr. Plumping Lip gloss

HELLO. PLUMPED lips?! I'm in.

The stats/claims from loreal.com: Long-wearing color and incredible shine for 8 hours in one easy step with our improved formula. Infallible® Plumping Gloss gives your pout a voluptuous new look. A pleasant plumping experience. Pain-free. No injections. Just gorgeous, fuller-looking lips. Comes in 8 shades.

The verdict: DUH. If you covet Kyle Jenner's lips, (or any Jenner's lips for that matter...) this is a no brainer because it takes you HALF way there without any pain, injections or burning. I bought Plumping Pink, (pictured here,) because I love the natural barely-there look when I trying to pump-up the shape of my lips. Think about it: a neon red lip that's huge and plumped may get a lot of attention that you don't necessarily want. I LOVE this stuff. Easy, holds for a long time and still natural enough not to be weird and unnatural. Retails for $10.

2. Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick

The stats/claims: Revlon's Ultra HD Lipstick has a revolutionary, high definition color without a heavy feel. Wax-free technology delivers true color clarity. Very pigmented yet still lightweight.

The verdict: Bomb lipstick! If you love literal lip STICKS, this one is a no brainer. I think it's super rare for a lipstick to be suuuper pigmented, but also super lightweight. They tend to be more chalky and thick when they're loaded with pigment. Not this one! I bought this in a bold pink/magenta color called Sweet Pea, which is perfect for a pop of pigment this Spring!! Love love love this. $8-10.

3. Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lipgloss

The stats/claims: Maybelline's Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Gloss is 0% sticky with a new, non-sticky way to shine. Caring oils moisturize, smooth, and soften for 4 hours of moisture so lips never feel dry.

The verdict: The claims are true! If your lips are ever super dry but you desperately want to wear some lip color, this is your happy medium. Not only is it a sticky-less gloss, (that's not a word,) but it gives you pigment WHILE addressing the dry lip issue. I'm not the most sold on glosses most of the time but this product snunk into my purse and I've used it sooooo many times this month. Even if you start off with a bold lip color in the morning but your lips feel dry later in the day, this is a great pick-me-up for your pucker. The LAST thing you want is DRY duck-lips in that selfie of yours. The pigments are subtle but still pretty. Retails for $4-6.

4. Loreal Infallible Pro-Last Lipcolor

The stats/claims pulled from Loreal's website: Long-lasting, transfer-resistant color you’ve been searching for. The high-intensity color glides on with a moisturizing feel that lasts up to 24 hours. The result: bold lips without the dry-out and no need to re-apply. First, apply High Intensity Color for true color pay-off that resists transfer, fading & bleeding. Then, apply Pro-Seal Balm to lock in color and leave lips feeling moisturized.

The verdict: FINALLY a Drugstore Lipstain that I can stand behind. Seriously...I'm a slave to YSL lipstains. I want them all, need them all, and live for them all. I've tried so many "stain" type of lipcolors from the drugstore but never one that I would say, "OMG...you HAVE to buy this." Until now. I love this thing. The texture of the actual lipcolor is VERY thin and liquidy with an easy application wand. You apply the color, wait like 50 seconds and then flip to the other side and apply the moisturizing balm on top. Which feels so dreamy. I bought the neutral one, because duh, but I'm gonna buy like 4 of them for my mother-in-law who's addiction to lipstains is for real. (Don't tell her I told you ;) Ultimately, your lips using a stain can always dry out during or after wearing a stain but as long as you're aware of it, it shouldn't be too bad. I go to sleep with heavy lip balm on and apply some about an hour before I apply any type of stain, and then again when I take my makeup off. Baby your lips a little before and after and you should have nooooo probs. Available in TWENTY FOUR SHADES. Hellllllo. Retails for $13.

5. Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipcolor

The stats/claims taken from Maybelline website: Bold, vivid color glides easily onto lips for a velvety matte finish. Formula is comfortable and creamy with a smooth feel upon application. With full color coverage, the result is a rich, intense lip look that comes in 10 gorgeous shades.

The verdict: Run, don't walk, to get this stuff. If you have covetted all of the Anastasia Liquid Lipstick shades on insta.....these are the closest Drugstore dupe that I can find to them!! I LOVE the finish and LOVE that they are seriously full FULL coverage. You can put on a lot and have a perfect matte lip, or you can put it on one lip (the top,) and rub your lips together for a more subtle color. OBSESSED. I am buying every single shade for my kit. Retails for $6-8.

6. Loreal Paris Color Riche Collection Exclusive: JLo's shade

The stats/claims: Custom-Made nude shades for every skintone. Luxuriously creamy with intense hydration. 5 different shades available based on 5 celebrity superstar women.

The verdict: The most basic lipstick, (not the negative "basic") for an everyday look with a polished look. Depending on shade, they range from subtle to bolder. Other options aside from Jlo's are Eva Longoria's, Julianne Moore's and a few more. I opted for Queen Jlo's shade because not only am I little Oliver-toned when it comes to complexion, but 9 times out of 10, I LOVE her makeup. If a lipstick gets me a tiny bit closer to Jlo...I'm in. Retails for $6-9.

7. Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor

The stats/claims from Revlon website: Lightweight, high definition velvety matte color. Moisturizing, velvety feel. 100% wax-free, gel formula. Available in 8 high definition shades.

The verdict: BOMB. Very comparable to the Maybelline Velvet Matte Liquid of #5, this matte lip is gorgeous. It's a bit of a thinner texture than the Maybelline one, but still feels great for long-wear. I WILL say that the Maybelline ones seem to have a wider range of color options but both are BEAUTIFUL on. I purchased the coral color (the one right in the middle) and will seriously wear it ALL spring and summer this year. Woot!! Retails $8-10.

I seriously wish that I could tell you I HATED one. Or two. Or even three. But I loved them all for different reasons. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED. Last year I hated two lipsticks so much, I wouldn't even give them the time to post about them!! Whatever look or formula you're going for, one of these 7 lip colors will absolutely work for you!!

Try it, love it, tag me and SHARE this post!!

Xx
